After spending a significant time in the 5th Edition Rules for La Bataille I'm pretty well worn out. These are probably the hardest rules to follow, even worse that ANY iteration of Fields of Fire or Last One Hundred Yards. I'm literally having to rewrite the rules so they make sense to me. When I copied and pasted the rules into Word I thought my computer was going to explode with all the grammar and concise writing findings. I created an Assault/Melee TTP in an effort to make that non-sense more easy to follow. And stop with all the French please. I got it, flavor of the period and all, but it doesn't work. At least for me. Defensive Fire is Defensive Fire, not "Feu de Provoques". Keep it consistent. Use one or the other throughout the document, or better yet. Just don't use it at all!

Here's what I got back: "Right, the 5th Ed. rules are compatible with all charts included within the game boxes... not with what appears on that website." I thought that was kind of strange. I get the impression maybe they don't like the labaitlle.us website? I wonder who runs that website. Anyway, maybe COA should upgrade there web game a little and provide more information so everyone knows what's going on. In my reply thanking them I shot this follow-up question at them. Was a updated Lutzen Org Chart ever made because the one that comes with the game is pretty bad and it's extremely hard to decipher the counter images. I don't know, maybe it's just me? 😜
Clash of Arms responded to my request regarding Version 5 charts content media

I posted to the blog on this topic. I have included this Forum post for any discussion on the subject. This pertains to the document I created that has the sequence of play listed out for Regs XXX, Version 5 and Marie-Louise Rules.

Reprinting one of my all time favorites, A blind swords system game: Longstreet Attacks: The Second Day at Gettysburg. Also up for reprints are Gazala: The Cauldron, Operation Battleaxe, and Celles. Gazala and Battleaxe were pretty good games. Revolution Games are also planning on 4 new releases in 2021: The Deadly Woods: The Battle of the Bulge designed by Ted Raicer currently at the printers and expected to release by April 1, Thunder At Dawn: The Battle of Wilson’s Creek designed by Claude Whalen currently in testing and expected to release in the 3rd quarter, The Day was Ours: The First Battle of Bull Run designed by Matt Ward currently in testing and expected to release in the 3rd quarter, Eagles in the Sky designed by Michael Lemick which is a World War I air game currently in testing and expected to release in the 4th quarter.

Update: I found this on the web, on the labataille.us site I believe. This one is actually has more information than the one I made, but, the text is smaller. At least for now, I can't remember all the information that is on the front and back or a La Bataille combat and/or Leader counter.

Not as hard as you might think, as long as I got it right myself that is. See attached.
